Access To Quality Mental Health Care Is Our Mission
Cadence Trach, LMSW
As a social worker, I believe in the strength of every individual and the importance of meeting people
where they are. At its core, this work is about creating a safe and supportive space where people feel
seen, heard, and empowered to make meaningful change.
I specialize in working with individuals navigating the intersection of substance use and mental
health challenges, and I’m committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care that honors
each client’s unique journey. Through my work at New Milford Counseling Center, I have grown
passionate about supporting preteens, teens, and young adults as they navigate the balance between
school, social life, and personal growth. As a younger clinician, I bring a unique, up-to-date
understanding of the current middle school, high school and college experience, having gone
through it myself recently. I enjoy helping clients build healthy coping skills for depression, anxiety,
and ADHD through CBT therapy with a focus on empowering them to understand themselves with
compassion and confidence. I also prioritize creating individualized CBT-based journaling
worksheets and journaling prompts tailored to each client’s goals, giving them practical tools to
explore their emotions, track patterns, and practice new strategies outside of sessions. My approach is
collaborative, supportive, and grounded in meeting each client exactly where they are.
In addition to CBT therapy, I have been trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
(EMDR) therapy and certified to provide EMDR therapy to clients, having completed EMDR
training recognized by EMDRIA and earned a Professional Continuing Education Certificate
through Amedco. I enjoy incorporating EMDR work into my clinical practice to support clients in
processing and healing from trauma, distressing experiences, and other challenges that may be
impacting their emotional well-being.
Previously, I have experience working in an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) where I spent time
working directly with people struggling with mental health and substance dependencies. I also have
experience working with adolescents, specifically those in active housing crises and struggling with
mental health.
I deeply value the therapeutic process and strive to create a safe, supportive environment where
clients can explore their experiences and build resilience. It’s a privilege to walk alongside individuals
as they work toward recovery, stability, and personal growth.
I received my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from Skidmore College in 2024, and my Master of
Social Work (MSW) from Fordham University in 2025. In my free time, I enjoy crocheting, painting,
hiking, and spending time with my family.
