FAQs & Rates

General Pricing

Q: What are your session rates?
A: Our rates vary by service and provider. Typical fees are: individual therapy —$180; couples therapy (60 minutes) — $210; initial intake/assessment — $210.

Q: Do you offer a sliding scale?
A: Yes. Sliding scale availability is limited and offered based on financial need. To inquire, please complete our sliding scale request form during booking or contact our intake team at (860)740-2228 or billing@nmccct.com

Insurance & Billing

Q: Do you accept insurance?
A: We accept many major commercial plans and Connecticut Medicaid (HUSKY) providers. We recommend contacting our intake team with your insurance details or checking your clinician’s profile to confirm in-network status.

Q: What if my insurance is out-of-network?
A: If we are out-of-network, you can either pay privately at the time of service and request reimbursement from your insurer (we can provide a superbill), or we can check whether your plan offers out-of-network benefits. Our billing team can assist with claims and superbills.

Q: How do I find out my copay or deductible?
A: Copays and deductibles are determined by your insurance plan. You can call the phone number on your insurance card and ask about mental health benefits, or provide your insurance details to our intake team and we’ll verify benefits for you.

Payments & Fees

Q: How do I pay for sessions?
A: We accept major credit/debit cards, HSA/FSA cards, and cash. Payment is due at the time of service. We also offer online payment through our secure client portal for telehealth and in-person sessions.

Q: Do you accept HSA/FSA for therapy?
A: Yes — if your plan allows mental health services as eligible expenses, you may use your HSA or FSA card at checkout.

Cancellations & No-Shows

Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: We require at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may be charged up to a $75
missed appointment fee. Exceptions may be made for emergencies—please contact us as soon as possible.

Q: What is your no-show policy?
A: A missed appointment without prior notice is considered a no-show and may be charged a missed appointment fee.

Telehealth & Location

Q: Do you offer telehealth sessions and are fees different?
A: Many of our clinicians offer telehealth (video) sessions at the same rate as in-person visits. Please verify with your clinician when scheduling.

Q: Where are you located and do fees differ by location?
A: Our main office is in New Milford, CT. Fees are consistent across our practice.

Initial Appointments & Assessments

Q: How much is an initial assessment?
A: Initial assessments are $210.

Financial Assistance & Referrals

Q: Do you offer any financial assistance or community resources?
A: We maintain a limited number of reduced-fee slots and can provide referrals to community mental health resources if needed. Contact intake for more information.

Q: Can I switch clinicians if they are not a good fit?
A: Absolutely. We encourage open communication. If you’d like to switch clinicians, our intake team will help coordinate a smooth transition and transfer records with your consent.
