Access to quality mental health care in New Milford,CT is our mission
Dawn Zabek, LCSW
We all have the ability to heal and overcome mental health and life challenges, and I have had the pleasure of guiding many through their journeys in my over 20 years as a social worker. While the basis of my clinical work lies in Cognitive Behavioral Theory, I use a holistic approach to treatment pulling in Motivational Interviewing techniques, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy techniques and Supportive Psychotherapy; all through a trauma- informed lens.
Since beginning my career as a therapist in 2000, I have worked with clients from birth to adulthood, with a particular interest in late adolescence and early adulthood. I provide individual, family and group therapy for those struggling with anxiety, mood disorders, life transition issues and parenting.
I received my BSW in 1998 from Elms College in Chicopee, MA and my MSW in 2000 from Springfield College.
When I am out of the office, you will find me in the great outdoors either taking care of my many flower gardens or hiking. Yoga and meditation is also an essential part of my daily routine.
Dawn Zabek, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in helping teens and their parents find and recognize the strengths within them.
